About the Recipe

Looking for a quick and delicious meal the whole family will love? Our forest-Raised Ham Steaks are a lifesaver on those busy evenings when you don’t know what to make! This recipe is so simple that even our kids can help cook it. In the summer, we love using **fresh pineapple** for an extra burst of flavor, but it’s just as tasty year-round. With just a few ingredients and minimal prep, you can have a wholesome, homemade meal on the table in no time!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 forest-raised ham steak (about 1 lb)

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • ½ cup pineapple juice

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)

Preparation

  1. Sear the Ham Steak: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add the ham steak and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.

  2. Make the Glaze: In the same pan, add pineapple juice, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

  3. Caramelize the Pineapple: Add pineapple rings to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until golden and caramelized.

  4. Glaze & Serve: Return the ham steak to the pan and spoon the warm glaze over the top. Let it cook for another 1-2 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Serve hot with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies. Enjoy a quick, delicious, and wholesome meal made with our forest-raised pork!
