About the Recipe
Creamy Old Fashioned Rice Pudding, just like Grandmas

Ingredients
½ cup white rice
2 cups milk (of course, whole raw milk is best)
⅓ cup sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg, beaten
Small handful of raisins (optional)
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Directions:
Bring 1½ cups of water to a boil in a medium pot. Add rice, cover, and simmer about 20 minutes until tender.
Stir in 1½ cups milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until it thickens and turns creamy (about 15 minutes).
Add the rest of the milk, beaten egg, and raisins. Cook 2 minutes more, stirring so it doesn’t stick.
Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
Serve warm for comfort or chill for later — both ways are delicious.
